CLO to hold 2nd Democracy Day Commemorative Lecture in A’Ibom

All is now set for the 2nd Democracy Day Commemorative Lecture of the Akwa Ibom State Branch of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO).

According to a statement endorsed by its State Chairman and Secretary, Otuekong Franklyn Isong and Barr Christopher Ekpo respectively yesterday in Uyo, the theme of this year’s lecture would be “The Role of Civil Society Organisations in Deepening Democracy in Akwa Ibom State”

The lecture according to the release would be delivered by Prof. Charles Obot, Professor of Broadcasting, Political and Development Communication and the Head, Department of Film and Multimedia Studies, University of Uyo.

The event would hold at the NUJ Press Centre on Tuesday, 28th June, 2022 by 10:00 a.m., and would be chaired by Prof. Joe Ushie, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Uyo.

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom is billed to be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Speaker of the State House Assembly, Barr Aniekan Bassey, and the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Justice Ekaette Obot, would be the Guests of Honour.

The President-General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council & Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk, would be the Royal Father of the Day, while Senator Akon Eyakenyi is expected to be the Mother of the Day.

Others expected at the event would include government officials, political parties’ candidates, civil society groups, the academia and the media.
