… say Ex-Lagos Governor one of Nigeria’s best leaders

Coalition of 70 Civil Society Organizations on Saturday, congratulated a former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, on his 61st birthday.

The pro-democracy and good governance group described the ex-Minister of Works and Housing as one of the finest political leaders of his generation whose impact continues to be felt across the length and breadth of the country.

In a statement signed by the Convener of Campaign for Dignity in Governance & Coalition of 70 Civil Society Organizations, Razaq Olokoba, the CSOs hailed former Governor Fashola for being above during his time in office in Lagos and as a minister.

“We celebrate a man with a visionary style of leadership, his deeds in the past continue to inspire a lot of us, starting from his state, where he led for eight years,

“Many of us are internally grateful for Fashola’s achievement and how he changed the landscape of Lagos state, turning it into a national and global reference for social, economic, and infrastructural development.

“We thank former Governor Fashola for his passionate services to the nation, Our honest prayer is that Almighty Allah blesses him with many more years in good health,

“As a pro-democracy and good governance coalition we join other millions of Nigerians to celebrate one of Nigeria’s brightest politicians on 61st birthday,” the statement read.

Fashola was the Chief of Staff when President Tinubu was the Governor of Lagos State and had served in various capacities before he was elected the Governor of the state in 2007.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also served as Minister of Power, Works, and Housing from 2015 to 2019, and Minister of Works and Housing from 2019 to 2023.
