Ejuke and Iheanacho Set to Return for Sevilla Against Girona

By  Milcah  Tanimu

Super Eagles stars Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho are set to make their return for Sevilla in their upcoming La Liga match against Girona at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi on Saturday.

Sevilla faced a tough close to 2024, dealing with injuries to key players, including Ejuke and Iheanacho. Ejuke has been sidelined since mid-October after suffering a hamstring injury during Sevilla’s 5-1 loss to Barcelona. Iheanacho, on the other hand, has been recovering from a slight knock over the past three weeks.

Both players returned to light training last week but were not fit for Sevilla’s recent match against Valencia. However, they were heavily involved in the team’s training session on Friday and are now ready for action. Despite their fitness improvements, coach Garcia Pimienta may opt to ease them back into the game, with both players likely to start from the bench.

The last time Sevilla faced Girona, the match ended in a 2-0 loss for the Spanish side, with Ejuke’s goal ruled offside. This time, he will be looking to make an impact and help Sevilla avoid another defeat.
