A father in Ogwashi Uku has appealed to security agencies to help locate his three-year-old daughter, who was reportedly abducted from their residence earlier this month.
The child, identified as Sheripha, was allegedly taken on March 7 after a woman visited the compound during a burial ceremony, according to her father, Abubakar Isiaka. Isiaka told reporters that the suspect asked for directions to a nearby home and requested his older daughter to guide her. He said the younger child followed them, but the suspect later sent the older child on an errand and disappeared with the toddler.
The family said they alerted community leaders, local vigilante groups and the police, but the child has not yet been found. Police spokesperson in Delta State, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said officers are investigating and tracking the suspect.
He urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and monitor their children closely, especially during public gatherings. Authorities have not released further details on the suspect, and the search for the child is ongoing.
