– The Intercontinental Cup (1960-2004) featured matches between European and South American champions, with Real Madrid winning the inaugural edition against Uruguay’s Peñarol.
– FIFA’s Club World Cup began in 2000 as an eight-team event and has used a seven-team format in recent years.
– The 2025 edition marks a major expansion to 32 teams, the largest in the tournament’s history.

Thirty-two clubs from around the world will compete:

Twelve U.S. stadiums will host the tournament’s 63 matches:
