The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has described the death of Chief Bode Akindele as a sad development.
Gbajabiamila said Chief Akindele, a famous philanthropist and employer of labour, lived a life worthy of emulation.
He said he was particularly saddened that a rare gem has gone, noting that his philanthropic works would remain indelible.
In a condolence message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker prayed to God to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Chief Bode Akindele was different things to different people. He touched the lives of people in positive ways one cannot imagine.
“The government and the people of Oyo State, and indeed Nigerians, have lost a rare gem. I will not forget in a hurry how the late Chief Bode Akindele used his fortune to better the lives of Nigerians from all walks of life.
“It is that character of a man who dedicated himself to the service to humanity, among other good characters of his, that we all will miss about the late Chief Akindele.
“I pray that our Lord finds him a peaceful resting place and gives his family, the government and the people of Oyo State the fortitude to bear this loss,” the Speaker said.
