As part of his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring smooth academic activities and the sustainable development of the Federal Polytechnic Nyak in Shendam Local Government Area.

The Governor made this pledge while receiving the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Abubakar Usman, and his delegation on a courtesy visit at the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

Governor Mutfwang stressed the importance of laying a strong foundation for the new Polytechnic to guarantee the delivery of quality education. He emphasized the need for a conducive learning environment, which is critical to achieving academic excellence and fostering innovation.

He commended the Federal Government for approving the establishment of the institution in Plateau State and assured that his administration would provide the necessary support to facilitate its smooth operation.

Underscoring the importance of education as the bedrock of any progressive society, the Governor pledged to work closely with the Polytechnic’s leadership to ensure the institution thrives.

A statement signed by Bere Gyang, Governor Mutfwang’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, further emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure at the Polytechnic to boost student enrollment. He also assured that the state government would expedite the proper handover of the legacy project at Nyak to serve as a permanent site for the institution.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Abubakar Usman, listed some of the challenges facing the Polytechnic. He noted that the institution, which was established on an uncompleted legacy project, is grappling with issues such as inadequate water supply, lack of staff and student buses, accommodation shortages, and pending land compensation matters.
