Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, stated that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is “unwaveringly committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to improve the nation.”

Speaking to reporters at Ilorin International Airport on Friday, Fanwo described the relationship between President Tinubu and Governor Ododo as one of a “father and son.” He emphasized that the Governor is a “staunch believer in the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

“Governor Ododo is a gentleman dedicated to peace and security. He views the Renewed Hope Administration as his own and has remained loyal to Mr. President,” Fanwo added.

In response to the incidents at the EFCC Headquarters and the Kogi State Government Lodge on Wednesday, Fanwo explained that the Governor’s actions were driven by patriotism and the need to avoid escalating security tensions.

“The Governor wants to clarify that his decision to accompany former Governor Yahaya Bello to the EFCC was rooted in his commitment to ensuring that law enforcement agencies are respected and supported, especially since the former Governor also expressed his willingness to honor the Anti-Graft Agency’s invitation as a leader who respects established institutions.”

When asked if the Governor was distracted by Wednesday’s events, Fanwo dismissed such assumptions, stating they “underrate the focus and commitment of the Governor to developmental issues.” He assured the public that Governor Ododo remains dedicated to the progress of Kogi State and Nigeria.

“Governor Ododo returned to Lokoja promptly to lead the APC Local Government Campaign Flag-off yesterday, which saw a tremendous turnout, indicating that the APC remains the party to beat in Kogi State.”

Fanwo also expressed appreciation for the National Security Adviser, praising Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for the “general improvement in security across the country.” He highlighted the collaboration between the Governor’s office and the NSA to strengthen security in Kogi State.

“The administration is also enhancing infrastructure in rural areas to boost agricultural production. Massive projects in road construction, healthcare facilities, and schools are underway.”

Fanwo assured that many of these projects would be commissioned during the Governor’s First Year Anniversary. “We recognize our responsibilities to our people and to Nigerians, given our strategic location as the gateway between the North and South. The Governor will not disappoint.”

He concluded by expressing gratitude to Mr. President for ongoing efforts to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Company, emphasizing that its full operation would significantly boost the nation’s economy.
