Gov Ortom Assents to N155.6bn 2022 Appropriation Bill

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, has assented to the 2022 appropriation Bill of one hundred and fifty five billion, six hundred and eleven million, three hundred and ninety thousand, two hundred and sixty five naira, eighty two Kobo.

The budget estimate tagged budget of growth and human capital development was presented to the Governor for assent at the Government House Makurdi by the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Titus Uba at the weekend.

Governor Ortom who pointed out that Government would adhere strictly to the provisions of the law, assured that Government wouldn’t hesitate to present to the state legislature a supplementary budget for approval if there is shortage of funds.

The Governor applauded members of the Assembly for timely passage of the budget. He equally lauded Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, for preparing their various reports on time which he said had made easier for the Lawmakers to consider them.

The Governor particularly commended the leadership of the assembly over their proper handling of affairs, even as he lauded members of the opposition in the house for not being antagonistic to his administration.

Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker, Mr Titus Uba who described the timely passage of next year’s budget as a turning point, appreciated the Governor for quick assent to the law.
