Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has awarded a ₦69 million contract to renovate Government Secondary School (GSS) Iluke, devastated by fire in 2020. The project, managed by the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), marks the school’s first major rehabilitation since its establishment in 1977.
At the flag-off ceremony, Education Commissioner Hon. Wemi Jones highlighted the administration’s focus on education, stating, *“This initiative reflects our dedication to preparing students for Kogi’s tertiary institutions.”*
Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, lauded the project as a fulfillment of Governor Ododo’s grassroots development promises.
CSDA General Manager Hon. Dauda Momoh announced that the project includes renovating three boreholes in Iluke and assured completion within four weeks. He urged residents to safeguard public facilities for long-term benefits.
The Olu of Iluke Bunu, HRH Chief Funsho Ayinmiro, expressed profound gratitude, calling the project a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to community development. GSS Iluke’s principal, Mr. Olorunfemi Mengbole, echoed the appreciation, as residents celebrated the investment in their children’s future.
The rehabilitation underscores Governor Ododo’s vision to prioritize education as a foundation for Kogi State’s development, fostering opportunities and progress for its citizens.
