Holy Friday: Christians leaders, members weep at Sections of The Cross

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Multitude of christian worshippers and leaders that watched the Sections of The Cross, marking the Holy Friday, wept openly with tears rolling down their cheeks following inability to control their emotions during the sections at St. Mary’s Parish, Catholic church, Ungwan Boro, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.

The sympathetic appearance and condition of “Jesus Christ” during the sections triggered the weeping when the “saviour” was been whipped continuously on top of his Cross by Soldiers during the Sections of the cross at the church promises.

The sections of the cross which commenced at 9 pm on Friday morning was observed in all the stages in the sections from the beginning to the end with the crucification on the cross of Jesus portrait and two criminals portraits.

Over hundreds of worshippers and speculators gathered around in the church premises to watch the sections and crucification guided by the church priests and other officiating members directing the sections.

Fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, children and youths who gathered in the church were seen weeping openly at the sight and sound times of the whipping and crucifixion on the cross of Christ and criminals portraits which ended around 11:30 am.

The sections was however not without accompanying prayers interjected by the priests as exemplified in the ministration of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Born by the holy Mary through the Holy spirit, crucified and died on the cross in calvary.

The bible quoted that Jesus Christ, the only son of God who was crucified and died on cross in Calvary for the sin of the world.
