How NDLEA Arrested Kuje Jailbreak Escapee in Abuja

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, on Monday, confirmed the arrest of one of the wanted terror suspects who escaped during the invasion of the Medium Security Correction Centre in Kuje, Abuja, by terrorists last week.

Over 800 inmates, including all the Boko Haram suspects in custody, were released in an attack for which the Islamic State’s West Africa Province had claimed responsibility.

However, on Monday, eagle eyed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) nabbed one of fleeing inmate, Suleiman Idi, at Area 1 motor park in the Federal Capital Territory.

Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the spokesperson for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, noted that the fleeing inmate, Suleiman Sidi, was nabbed at Area 1 motor park in the Federal Capital Territory.

“He was attempting to board a commercial vehicle to Maiduguri, Borno State, when he was arrested. When he was searched, three wraps of cannabis sativa were found on him

“During preliminary interview, the wanted terror suspect confirmed he was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre for terrorism and robbery charges, adding that he was indeed one of the inmates who escaped from the facility last Tuesday,” Babafemi said in the statement.
