Illegal Diesel Sale: Oyo Gov’t Sternly Warns Marketers

Demolishes Structures

The Oyo State government has condemned the illegal sale of adulterated diesel products at unauthorized locations along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, calling it an eyesore.

During a recent monitoring and enforcement exercise, Architect Abdulmojeed Olawale Mogbonjubola, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, ordered the demolition of all structures used by unauthorized diesel marketers.

Addressing the illegal marketers, Commissioner Mogbonjubola reiterated previous warnings about the need to cease illegal diesel trading along the route. He expressed frustration over the sellers’ persistent disregard for the state’s regulations despite repeated warnings.

In a related matter, Architect Mogbonjubola has also directed traders at the Fish Market in Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan, to prioritize sanitation. During his visit, he identified areas of concern within the market and advised traders to stop dumping refuse improperly. He recommended that they engage the services of an Environmental Consultant to ensure proper waste management.
