Inter Miami Goalkeeper Warns Club: Not Ready for Messi’s Arrival, Urges Focus on Security

Inter Miami goalkeeper Nick Marsman has expressed concerns about the club’s preparedness for Lionel Messi’s imminent move to Major League Soccer. Marsman emphasized the need for significant upgrades and highlighted the importance of prioritizing security measures for both the league and the club owners.

Messi, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and 2022 World Cup champion, has decided to join Inter Miami after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. The Argentine superstar is expected to finalize the move in the coming days and make his debut later in the season.

Speaking to ESPN about Messi’s arrival, Marsman expressed his personal belief that the club is not adequately prepared for the Argentine’s arrival. He pointed out the club’s temporary stadium, lack of gates, and absence of security measures, raising concerns about the potential risks and challenges in ensuring Messi’s safety. Despite his reservations, Marsman expressed hope that Messi still chooses to join Inter Miami.

With six more league matches scheduled in the next 45 days before the summer break, Inter Miami will regroup in mid-July, when Messi is expected to join the team.
