Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has received commendation for the timely payment of counterpart funds, enabling the state to attract support from the World Bank and other donor agencies. This effort is part of his ongoing initiatives to bring relief to rural communities.

The Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, Chief Markus Nyam, expressed his appreciation during a meeting with a team from the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in his office on Wednesday. Chief Nyam highlighted that Jos East, which faces challenges in accessing roads to connect villages and farms, is among the beneficiaries of RAAMP’s road rehabilitation intervention.

Chief Nyam further explained that Governor Mutfwang’s initiatives reflect his administration’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the people and fostering sustainable development in Plateau State. He emphasized that the ongoing efforts are already producing positive results and changing the state’s narrative.

Additionally, Chief Nyam expressed gratitude to RAAMP for prioritizing projects based on the needs of the local government areas across the state. He assured the council’s readiness to offer full support to the contractor to ensure timely project delivery.

Earlier, RAAMP Infrastructure Engineer Engr. Daniel Tempsen disclosed that he was leading a delegation of RAAMP staff, consultants, and contractors to hand over the construction of road projects in Jos East Local Government Area. The projects will span from Gada to Maigemu, Dorong, Jankasa Junction, and Gangara villages.

Engr. Tempsen explained that the program is a collaboration between the World Bank, the French Development Agency, the Nigerian Government, and Plateau State. The initiative is set to be completed within 18 months from the handover date. He urged the contractor to prioritize quality and timely completion.

In separate remarks, the contractor, Forcetech Engineering Company Nigeria Limited, Engineer Dr. Oduwale, lead consultant Hassan, Ambassador Ibrahim Kasai, and Luka Madaki all praised the collaborative effort of the World Bank, the French Development Agency, the Nigerian Government, and Plateau State. They emphasized the importance of improving rural roads to ease the transportation of agricultural produce to markets.

While commending Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his dedication and for creating a conducive environment for the successful commencement of projects across the state, Chief Nyam assured the public of the project’s timely execution according to specifications.

He called on the people of Jos East to continue their support for the “Time is Now” administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang. Chief Nyam assured them that numerous projects would soon be commissioned within the council area to benefit the local population.
