JUMPING OF BAIL ALLEGATIONS AGAINST KADUNA JOURNALIST:

I decided to come out today in this way and manner because journalism is noble and not a profession of liars. Jumping of bail itself is a serious criminal allegation. Indeed synonymous to jail break, but of course, of lesser crimes in terms of comparison.

When the PPRO of Kaduna State police command Asp Mansur Hassan told VOA correspondent in an interview, that I Mr. Idibia Gabriel jumped bail, little did he knew that the allegation will re-vibrate.

Truly speaking, when you’re accused of jumping bail, you must first and foremost be rearrest and bring back to the detention under a tight security, sometimes in chain. In my own case, I was brought to police, by my humble self, in company of a colleague, Mordecai Ibrahim, a publisher of New Impression magazine for that matter, based on invitation by the police. Indeed, alongside with my lawyer, Barr. JS Kure.

But lo and behold, before then, I’ve met with the PPRO, in an acting capacity, who made me to believe that he was going to be very honest, sincere and open, and perhaps different from his predecessors in terms of responding to media clarifications almost immediately.

I took him by his word for that matter, until the time he granted interview to VOA news report, still in my custody, and lied blatantly against me on a matter that landed me in prison custody.

The question however, is whether I really jumped bail or not from all indications, given my submissions above.
Don’t also forget that, i had a surety Mr. Amos Mathew of NNN, who signed for my bail. He was neither notified, approached or arrested for not producing me.

PPRO also forgot that the same Operation “Yaki” police who took my arrested and supplied him with the information, actually asked me to go home and be reporting back at my own convenience time and pace until they needed me.

I decided to take this valuable times, today to script all these facts believing that any journalist could find himself I’m my position tomorrow.

Recalled that when I was first dragged to court under Mal. Nasir El-rufai regime over N90bn asset declaration in defunct The Union Newspapers, little did the rest colleagues knew that it was going to be draconian administration for the media practitioners in Kaduna state, until when over 5- 6 were arrested, molested and detained after me. No need mentioning names because we’re all living witnessed.

The reality is that, the PPRO lied dangerously and gravely against a journalist, my humble self. In NLC’s rules, an injury to one is an injury to all. However, I did not blame colleagues much because of the low level knowledge of the leadership of the union as regards to labor matters under the current council as constituted, led by my humble self.
Thanks for those of you been there for me.
I wish to use this opposability to forgive all other colleagues for sake of God in this 2024 new year for sake their ignorant.

But kindly note the battle is not over… We’re going for fight for rights violation against the police and those involved in my unjust incarceration, sooner of later.

Till we meet on 25th January 2024 at Magistrate court 2 Daura road, Kaduna.
Thank yours’ High Chief Idibia Gabriel.
