Just In: PDP National Working Committee Rejects Suspension of Imo Chairman

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the suspension of the Imo State Chapter Chairman, Charles Ugwu. The suspension, citing gross misconduct and insubordination, was announced on Tuesday, with Chidi Dike appointed as the interim chairman.

In a statement released on Thursday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba declared the suspension null and void after the NWC’s 579th meeting. Ologunagba emphasized that the suspension goes against the rules and provisions outlined in the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

The statement conveyed, “The NWC therefore charges all leaders, critical stakeholders, members, and teeming supporters of our party in Imo State to be guided accordingly. The NWC enjoins all party members in Imo State to remain united and continue to work together in the overall interest of our party.”
