“Kaduna Muslims Urge President Tinubu to Refrain from Swearing in Ex-Gov El-Rufai as Minister, Citing Alleged Oppression”

Must read

A coalition representing Quranic Memorisers and Reciters has made a fervent plea to President Bola Tinubu, urging him not to administer the oath of office to the former governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, as a minister.

Sheikh Sidi Aliyu Sise, the director of education at the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, has implored the president to exercise caution when inducting individuals with questionable records.

Sheikh Sise noted that the nomination and subsequent screening of the ex-Kaduna governor by the National Assembly raised concerns about fairness for Quranic memorisers and reciters.

Accusing El-Rufai of oppressing Almajirai while he was in power, Sheikh Sise emphasized that the treatment meted out to innocent pupils and Quranic scholars during their evacuation from the House of Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi in Kaduna was unjust and traumatic.

Sheikh Sise implored President Tinubu to uphold justice in his leadership of the nation, urging him to consider the negative experiences suffered during El-Rufai’s tenure.

The Quranic scholars stressed that if El-Rufai were sworn in as a minister, it would imply President Tinubu’s endorsement of the injustices they endured while El-Rufai held office as governor.
