Kebbi State Celebrates One Year Under Governor Nasir Idiris

The Kebbi State, one-year anniversary of the administration of Dr. Nasir Idris in Kebbi State has been marked by a remarkable surge in development across various sectors.

Governor Nasir visionary leadership has ushered in a new era of progress and prosperity, transforming the state and improving the lives of its residents.

In the realm of infrastructure, the governor’s administration has overseen the construction and rehabilitation of over 500 kilometers of roads, including major arteries such as the Argungu-Birnin Kebbi-Jega-Yauri road and the Zuru-Fakai-Sakaba road. Furthermore, the establishment of the Kebbi State Road Maintenance Agency (KESROMA) ensures sustainable road maintenance, contributing to enhanced connectivity and accessibility.

The healthcare sector has also experienced significant advancements, with the construction of 100 new primary healthcare centers and the completion of the 100-bed Maternal and Child Health Center in Birnin Kebbi, providing specialized healthcare services for women and children.

Additionally, the introduction of the Kebbi State Health Insurance Scheme (KSHIS) has extended affordable healthcare coverage to all residents, underscoring the administration’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens.

In the realm of education, the establishment of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology (KSUST) and the implementation of free and compulsory education from primary to secondary level reflect the administration’s dedication to expanding access to quality education.

The provision of scholarships and bursaries further underscores the commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all students.

Agriculture has also received a significant boost, with the distribution of over 100,000 metric tons of subsidized fertilizers to farmers, the establishment of the Kebbi State Agricultural Development Agency (KSADA), and the construction of irrigation schemes to enhance agricultural productivity.

The governor’s administration has also prioritized security, with the establishment of the Kebbi State Security Trust Fund and the provision of resources to enhance the operational capacity of security personnel. These efforts have contributed to maintaining peace and combating crime in the state.

In addition to these achievements, the establishment of the Kebbi State Investment Promotion Agency (KSIPA) and the construction of the Kebbi State International Airport underscore the administration’s commitment to economic development and connectivity.
