‘Life Has Been Meaningless Since I Lost My Mom’ – Wizkid

Nigerian music sensation, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, took to Instagram on Wednesday to reflect on the passing of his mother, Dolapo Balogun. The acclaimed artist lost his mother in August while he was on tour in Europe for his album, ‘More Love Less Ego.’

In his heartfelt post, Wizkid expressed the profound impact of his mother’s death, stating that life has felt meaningless since her passing. Despite the emotional challenges, he remains resilient and encourages his fans to persevere with faith in God.

Wizkid wrote: “Made idk days after I lost my mum. Life’s been meaningless! But we dey. Sometimes you got to let everything go… Work with God.”

In related news, Nigerian hip-hop artiste Phenom recently revealed regret over declining record deals from industry heavyweights, including Wizkid and Olamide, years ago. During the Terms and Conditions podcast, Phenom expressed remorse for not accepting Wizkid’s offer, stating that loyalty to his then-label, Knight House, influenced his decision. He acknowledged that joining Wizkid’s label could have positively shaped his career trajectory.
