Press Release

The Oyo State Government Waste Management consultant, Mottainai Recycling Ltd has begun an aggressive clean-up of the backlog of wastes around Ibadan city, largely through night operations.

Some of the areas already covered include Iwo Road, Egbeda, Lagelu and Akinyele in Ibadan.

This was revealed in a before and after photos of the exercise shared on the official X handle of Mottainai on Thursday.

The company also said it has commenced an intensive clean-up exercise, to clear road medians and setbacks of waste.

In the post, Mottainai advised residents to play their role in keeping Oyo State clean by shunning indiscriminate waste disposal, and patronizing assigned Mottainai Accredited Franchisees (MAFs).

The operation is personally coordinated by the Managing Director Mottainai, Mr. Adey Adewuyi.

According to Mottainai, the exercise is part of its efforts to keep the State clean and free of waste, and also to encourage residents to shun indiscriminate waste dumping, while urging them to dispose wastes properly in authorized places

Mottainai appealed for support from residents to stem the tide of improper waste disposal, by bagging and containerizing their waste, adding that those caught in the act of reckless waste disposal would be made to face the law.

The firm also urged residents with complaints and enquiries on waste management related issues in their areas, to call Mottainai toll free lines, 0700800700 or 08181900004 for prompt intervention.
