Multichoice Announces Another Price Hike for DStv, GOtv Packages

By Abigail Philip David

Multichoice has announced another price increase for its DStv and GOtv packages, set to take effect from March 1, 2025.

In a statement issued to customers on Monday, the company cited rising operational costs as the reason for the adjustment, stating that the move would help maintain its offering of high-quality local and international content.

“Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages,” the statement read. “This is to enable us to continue to offer our customers world-class homegrown and international content, delivered through the best technology.”

The latest price review comes nearly a year after the last increment. Under the new pricing structure:

  • DStv Compact will increase from N15,700 to N19,000
  • DStv Compact Plus will rise from N21,000 to N30,000
  • DStv Premium will now cost N44,500, up from N29,500

For GOtv subscribers:

  • The GOtv Jinja package will go from N3,600 to N3,900
  • GOtv Plus will increase from N4,850 to N5,800
  • GOtv Max will now cost N8,500
  • GOtv Supa will be N11,400, while GOtv Supa Plus will rise to N16,800

Multichoice attributed the price hike to the growing economic challenges in Nigeria, including currency depreciation and high inflation, which have significantly increased its operational costs.
