National ALGON Crisis: Kogi ALGON Dissociate Self From Flagging Off Ceremony of National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme

The Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, through it Chairman, Hon. Taufiq Isa has dissociated himself and the State from the Inauguration Ceremony of National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme organized by former ALGON President, Hon. Kolade Alabi, scheduled to take place today.

The Kogi State ALGON Chairman in his statement released to the press, Hon. Taufiq said the Kolade Alabi led National Executive Council doesn’t have any legal right to convene a programme comprising the 774 Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria. Asides the court injunction restraining him not to parade himself as the ALGON President, he is from Bariga Local Development Council in Lagos, which is not one of the Local Government recognized by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He advices the consultant handling the Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme, ATD Global Security Services not to step into Kogi State as they are not engaged by a legal National Executive Council members but should engage the Interim Management Commitee Members, duely recognized by the competent court of law.

Recall, I was elected alongside Hon. Kolade Alabi as the National Legal Adviser of the association but I need to step aside immediately there is a court injunction that the Kolade Alabi led National Executive Council stop parading themselves as NEC members. I will never be part of illegality.

I am directing the Executive Chairmen in the Local Government Councils in Kogi State to disregard in totality any consultant from the Kolade led National Executive Council.

The Kogi State ALGON Chairman and former Elected National Legal Adviser pleads with President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria Governors Forum, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Governmental Affairs, Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Inspector General of Police, Comptroller General, Nigeria Custom Service, Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Federal Road Safety Corps and Director General, State Security Services not to support illegality, as they are aware Kolade Alabi led NEC is out to rubbish the rule of law of our nation. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has done so much in strengthening the rule of law and should not be destabilize by a section.
