The Kano State Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has congratulated Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), CON, OFR, on his reappointment as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the agency by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari. Speaking on behalf of officers, men, and community stakeholders, the Commander of the Kano Strategic Command, ACGN A.I. Ahmad, described Marwa’s renewed mandate as well deserved and a reflection of his outstanding leadership.

According to Ahmad, the Chairman’s reappointment underscores his unwavering commitment to reforming and strengthening the NDLEA, particularly in the areas of welfare, logistics, and operational support for personnel nationwide.

“We congratulate Chairman Brig-Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa on this reappointment,” ACGN Ahmad said. “Under his leadership, the agency has recorded unprecedented achievements. His prioritisation of personnel welfare and modernization of logistics has greatly enhanced field operations and improved outcomes in the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse.”

Reaffirming the Command’s resolve to intensify the fight against illicit drugs, Ahmad urged individuals involved in drug trafficking and related criminal activities in Kano State to desist, repent, and seek lawful means of livelihood.

“Anyone who continues to traffic in or peddle illicit substances will be subject to investigation, arrest, and prosecution in accordance with the law,” the statement warned.

The Commander also assured Marwa and the general public of the Command’s sustained dedication to combating substance abuse in the state. He emphasised the importance of community partnerships, security collaborations, and stakeholder engagement in achieving a safer and drug-free Kano.
