Nicki Minaj Learns Pidgin with Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’

By   Milcah   Tanimu

American rapper Nicki Minaj is embracing Nigerian culture by learning Pidgin English with the help of Afrobeats. In a recent social media post, Nicki revealed she’s been practicing the language by listening to Ayra Starr’s hit song “Rush.” This came after she grabbed the attention of Nigerian fans by speaking Pidgin in a post on her X account (formerly Twitter), where she humorously referred to herself as a “Sabi Girl,” a popular phrase from the song.

Minaj’s love for Pidgin is part of her growing connection with Nigerian music and culture. She’s previously collaborated with Afrobeats star Davido on the track “Holy Ground” from his album *A Better Time*. Recently, she also teased a new collaboration with Burna Boy, exciting fans even further.
