NIPOGA: Delta poly, Osun poly, Laspotech shine in 100m finals

Iruoghene Okoro of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, returned at a time of 10:44 seconds to claim the gold medal at the male 100 metres event of the 20th Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA) while Ayobami Babatunde of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, won silver at 10:53 seconds.

Hanson Dianabasi of Lagos State Polytechnic came third with a time of 10:56 seconds to complete the male podium.

In the female category, Iyanu Bada of Lagos State Polytechnic won gold medal at a time of 11:58 seconds while Taiwo Aremu of The Polytechnic Ibadan, claimed silver when she returned with a time of 11:81 seconds, with Gift Ihwughuawe of Delta Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, clinching bronze at a time of 11:90 seconds.

In the 10,000 metres female category, Balkis Akinola of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, won the gold medal when she completed the race with a time of 45 mins, 49 seconds.

In the 10,000 metres male category, Sunday Ijoko of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, returned at a time of 33 mins, 21 seconds to win the gold medal.

Chukwuma Azike of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, claimed the silver medal after returning at a time of 34 mins, 22 seconds while Moses Onomuodeke of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, finished third at a time of 36 mins, 41 seconds.(NAN)
