Obingwa LG Chairman unveils Agalaba United Football Club/ Academy

The Executive Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, Hon. Ibe Nwoke has unveiled Agalaba United Football Club/ Academy.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony at Dhabi’s place, Aba, Hon. Nwoke, who is also known as Abu Dhabi, thanked the man behind the project and Secretary of Enyimba International Club, Mr. Chibuzo Nwogu for his relentless efforts in making sure that project come on stream.

He said that football business is a very viable business and urged members of the management not to relent in the task of making sure that the project records success.

Hon. Nwogu further identified football as a unifying factor which brings people of diversified ethnic, religious, cultural and political divides together.

He urged the youths to take the project as it is a worthwhile venture that requires them to dissipate.

In his remarks, Mr. Chibuzo Nwogu, the Founder and Chairman of the Board said that the project is a token of giving back to the society.

He also noted that the football is billed to feature in the Abia State FA League which kicks of next month.

According to him, the project will run on two legs. One is the mainstream team and second is the academy which will feature players from 10 to 15 years. He said that the philosophy behind this arrangement is to groom young players who will in the nearest future ply their trades in both local and international football engagements.

The form of recruitment of players into the club is by open screening which will come up on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 at Ntighauzo South Secondary/ Primary School by 3pm. The founder/ chairman therefore urged all Agalaba and non- Agalaba players to avail themselves of the opportunity by reporting at the venue on the scheduled date.
