Okpebholo, Renovating 100 schools in 100 Days

In a 100 days in office, the Edo State Gov. Monday Okpebholo has achieved his dream of renovating 100 schools in 100 days.

The people’s governor, as perceived by the Edo people, has taken education in the state to another level.
Gov. Okpebholo is championing renovations of schools to create a comfortable learning environment in schools and also to increase the morale of students.

Executive Chairman of Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, Mrs. Onomen Briggs stated that in just 100 days in office Gov. Okpebholo, in line with his initiative, has embarked on delivery of quality education, extensive renovations, and reconstruction of school buildings across Edo State.
These efforts aim to provide safe, modern learning environments that empower every child to thrive, Briggs emphasized.

As part of activities to mark the governor’s 100 days in office, the SUBEB Lead embarked on an inspection to
the Edo Central Senatorial District, with some Board Members Chief Christopher Abuya and Engr. Martin Amune to ensure that the governor’s vision is fully realized.

The tour to different school facilities was to ascertain the level of progress, in tanderm with the governor’s vow to renovate, reconstruct 100 schools in his 100 days in office.
To achieve this feat becomes a reality, the team visited the Edo South Senatorial District to have a comprehensive oversight.

During the inspection, the team evaluated progress at several schools, At Ebhoakhuala Primary School in Ebhoakhuala (Ekpoma), the site engineer, Mr. Samson Walter, and Headmistress, Mrs. Umoera Beatrice showcased a newly constructed block comprising six classrooms, an office, and a toilet facility.
Recent reports indicate that a similar tour in the Edo South Senatorial District took place earlier in the week, highlighting the state’s commitment to comprehensive oversight of work.

During the inspection, the team evaluated progress at several schools. At Ebhoakhuala Primary School in Ebhoakhuala (Ekpoma), the site engineer, Mr. Samson Walter, and Headmistress, Mrs. Umoera Beatrice showcased a newly constructed block comprising six classrooms, an office, and a toilet facility.

At Eko-Omigie Primary School in Urohi (Esan West), the Executive Chairman inspected a completed block of four classrooms and an office awaiting furnishings. Additionally, renovations at Atani Primary School and Egbele Primary School in Uromi were reviewed.

At the end of the Edo Central tour, Briggs expressed her satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the improvements were markedly superior to those observed during the Edo South visit earlier in the week.
She emphasized that such inspections are essential to ensuring the timely delivery of the governor’s ambitious plan to renovate and reconstruct over a hundred schools during his first hundred days in office, and confirmed that commissioning of the completed buildings would commence in the coming weeks—a significant milestone in Edo State’s commitment to providing quality education.
