Our Topmost Priority is to Deliver Efficient Services, Safely, Says Dangana

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kano Electricity Distribution Company,Plc. (KEDCO) Ahmed Dangana has reiterated his commitment to improving health and safety culture of the organisation for the protection of staff and customers from electricity-related accidents.

Dangana stated this while delivering remarks at a 3-day health and safety training organised for its frontline technical staff, at the Company’s head office in Kano recently, as contained in a press release signed and issued to our correspondent in Kano.

He said, “we will continue to provide all necessary equipment needed for our protection while discharging our various responsibilities; therefore, I urge you all to imbibe conscious attitude and shun taking short-cuts”.

The KEDCO boss also expressed appreciation to his technical team for their commendable efforts towards ensuring that KEDCO remained 100 percent health and safety compliant, stating that, “our topmost priority is to deliver efficient services to our teeming customers and in doing so, we must ensure our safety and wellbeing as well as that of our customers”, he said.

Dangana, who cautioned the technical staff against non-usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty, said his doors are always open for valuable suggestions especially those that will improve the overall performance of the Company.

In his remarks, on behalf of the trainees, the Chief Technical Officer, Engr. Inuwa Bala Daneji expressed appreciation to the management for continuous training and furnishing of the technical team with standard safety practices necessary to avert attendant dangers and risks they are exposed to daily.

While pledging commitment to abiding by processes and procedures, Daneji also called on customers to assist in prevention of electricity-related accidents within their communities through prompt reporting of faults and hazards as well as fighting the menace of energy theft and unauthorised access to electrical installations.
