SENATOR LALONG MOURNS FORMER COCIN PRESIDENT, REV. DR. MUSA GOTOM

The death of former President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Rev. Dr. Musa Gotom has been described as a big loss to Plateau State, Nigeria and the body of Christ in general.

In a condolence message to the family of the deceased and the Christian community, Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong said the late clergyman was an embodiment of humility, selflessness and godly character.

Lalong said the late COCIN President was an accomplished academic and administrator who was trusted with several positions of responsibility within and outside the Church in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

He said apart from training and mentoring many Pastors and Church workers during his years of active service, Rev. Dr. Gotom worked hard to ensure that the Church performed its duty of reconciling men to God and impacting the society positively.

Lalong said although the exit of the elderstatesman is painful, the legacies he left behind in decades of service will continue to speak after him and grant comfort to his immediate family and the body of Christ.

The late Rev. Dr. Musa Gotom was at various times Principal, Theological College of Northern Nigeria, COCIN General Secretary, 3-time President of COCIN, TEKAN President among others.
