Sokoto Local Government Service Commission To Reward Dedicated, Hardworking Secretary

Professionalism, dedication and hardwork in the local government service, will continue to be rewarded by the present leadership of Local Government Service Commission.

Chairman of the Commission Alh Ahmad Barade Wamakko stated this in a meeting with Secretaries of the 23 Local Government Councils of the State, held at the Commission premises.

Alh Ahmad Barade Wamakko said, the present administration in the State is poised to revive the lost glory of the local government service and called on them to be alive to their responsibilities.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Commission Secretary Alh Aminu Abubakar Rijiya said the meeting is aimed at discussing vital issues that relates to their duties as chief administrative officers of their respective local governments.

Alh Aminu Abubakar Rijiya then urge them to ensure timely compliance of all directives for actualisation of Gov’t policies and programmes.

In their separate speeches, the Permanent Commissioner 1of the Commission, Alh Abubakar Attahiru, Permanent Commissioner 2 Alh Musa Muh”d Gumbi, Permanent Commissioner 3 Alh Bello Haruna Tangaza and Permanent Commissioner 4 Alh . Adamu Abdullahi Joda, told the local government Secretaries that the Commission will not relent in its primary responsibility of training local government personel for both long and short term aimed at providing effective and efficient manpower needed at the grassroot.

They affirmed that emphasis will be given to Agriculture and works departments to avoid shortage of professionals in the fields.

In a vote of thanks, the chairman Local Government Secretaries forum Alh Shehu Garba Goronyo, said, the delay encountered in submitting the comprehensive staff list to the Commission was as a result of non proper documentation of records at the Local Government.

Alh Shehu Garba Goronyo who is also the Secretary Sokoto North Local Government pledged their unflinching support to the State Government and the Commission leadership and assured of timely adherence to all directives.

The meeting was attended by all permanent Commissioners and Principal officers of the Commission.
