Statutory Allocation; FCTA expends N4,729,281,486.64Billion To Area Councils, Stakeholders

The Federal Capital Territory Administration expended the sum of N4,729,281,486.64 billion to the six area councils and other stakeholders as statutory allocation for the month of November, 2023.

The amount represent a slight decrease when compared to N4,966,217,872.99billion shared in the month of October, 2023.

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, who presided over the 184th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), meeting commended the stakeholders for their invaluable contributions.

However, a breakdown of the figures released during the JAAC meeting indicates that the sum of N2,278,074,927.90 billion was made available for distribution to the six area councils, while the sum of N2,451,206,558.74billion was made available to other stakeholders, bringing the total sum to N4,729,281,486.64billion.

Similarly, distributions to the six area councils shows that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), received N501,091,846,.87million, while Gwagwalada got N360,916,297.90million and Kuje received N396,980,497.83million.

Other area councils include, Bwari Area Council which received N351,073,007.13million, Abaji got N309,019,913.05million while Kwali received N358,993,365.12million, bringing the total sum to N2,278,074,927.90billion disbursed to the six area councils.

On the other hand, distribution to other critical stakeholders include: Primary School Teachers which gulped N2,069,585,348.67billion, 15 percent Pension Funds took N226,478,989.57million, One percent Training Fund gulped N47,292,814.87million, while 10 percent Employer Pension Contribution gulped N107,849,405.63million, bringing the total sum to N2,451,206,558.74billion.

Present at the 184th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting were the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola, represented by the Director of Operations, Planning and Strategy, Mr. Samuel Atang Mandate Secretary Area Council Services, Hon. Bitrus Garki, and the Director of Finance and Administration in Area Council Secretariat, Mrs. Omolola Olanipekun.

Others include the Chairman of Abaji area council, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi, Chairman of Kwali area council, Hon. Danladi Chiya, amongst others.
