Nigerian social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has claimed he was contacted by the Department of State Services (DSS) over allegations linking him to a planned protest.
In a video shared on social media, he said the agency informed him of reports alleging he had been contracted by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to organise demonstrations targeting institutions such as the Independent National Electoral Commission and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
VeryDarkMan denied the claims, stating he is not affiliated with any political party and has no plans to organise protests. He added that his commentary focuses on governance and insecurity issues affecting citizens.
He also criticised celebrity involvement in political campaigns, arguing that voters should make independent decisions without external influence.
During the remarks, he expressed dissatisfaction with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, citing ongoing security concerns. He compared current challenges with past political criticisms, saying leadership should be held accountable regardless of who is in power.
The DSS has not publicly responded to the claims at the time of reporting.
