Vinicius Junior Receives Two-Match Ban After Red Card in La Liga Win

By  Milcah   Taimu

Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior will miss two crucial La Liga fixtures for Real Madrid after receiving a red card in his side’s 2-1 victory over Valencia. The red card came after Vinicius hit Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski during the match. As a result, Vinicius will not play in the upcoming matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.

Despite the suspension, the Brazilian international is eligible to play in the Spanish Super Cup this week. Real Madrid managed a dramatic comeback in the Valencia match, with Luka Modric equalizing in the 85th minute and Jude Bellingham scoring the winner in added time.

The win put Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, two points ahead of Atlético Madrid, who have played one less game. After the match, Vinicius took to Twitter, expressing his apologies: “Sorry, and thanks, team!”
