“Why would they dash a billionaire a car” Mixed reactions as Funke Akindele receives brand new car at an event

A video of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele receiving a brand new car at an event has sparked mixed reactions online.

The event, titled “A Toast To Funke Akindele,” was organized on Wednesday night to celebrate the actress’s milestone achievement of grossing over a billion in Cinemas. It was hosted in collaboration with GAC Motor Nigeria and FilmOne Entertainment.

Celebrities such as Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Ajao, Sola Sobowale, Taaooma, Bisola Aiyeola, and others attended the event.

The highlight of the evening was when Funke Akindele was presented with a brand-new car courtesy of GAC Motor.

While many congratulated her, acknowledging her hard work and deserving the gift, others questioned why a billionaire would receive a new car as a gift.

Chioma Akpotha commended her, writing, “This is so sweet. She deserves more! Funke works super hard.”

On the other hand, some expressed skepticism, with Sasha Itota questioning, “What did she do to deserve a billionaire’s car as a gift?”

Latifa Chuks applauded her, stating, “Well deserved. This woman is a hustler and she’s reaping her good seeds sown. Congratulations Aunty Funke.”

Deederm Essentials also congratulated her, emphasizing her resilience and tenacity.

Hibee Choco exclaimed, “Wow! She deserves it, Timini well done.”

Recently, Funke Akindele’s movie “A Tr!be Called Judah” made a record in the United Kingdom, grossing £80,000 in just four weeks of streaming. This added to her string of successful movies, including “Omo Ghetto The Saga,” which grossed over one billion naira at the Nigerian box office within four weeks of its release.

Reflecting on her journey, Funke expressed gratitude to God, acknowledging His presence throughout her career, from the early days of Old Nollywood to the present.
