APC calls for Kwankwaso arrest over B/Haram allegation against FG

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the Nigerian Security to arrest and investigate Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso over claims that the Federal Government is breeding Boko Haram insurgency in Kano.

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday, the state’s chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Abbas called on the security to drill Kwankwaso to mention those involved in the act of planning to destabilize the state.

Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and also the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano had recently alleged that Bola Tinubu’s administration is breeding Boko Haram terrorists in Kano because of the deployment of security to protect the 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Bayero at his Nasarawa Palace in the metropolis.

“We wish to call on Nigeria’s security agents to arrest and investigate this man to reveal the identity of the people he referred to as enemies of the state working for the federal government to breed Boko Haram terrorists and insurgents” the APC chairman stated.

“Kwankwaso made the allegation on Monday during a flag-off ceremony for the construction of the 85-kilometer rural road at his hometown, Madobi”, he said.

The APC chairman condemned the claims by Kwankwaso while expressing the likelihood of a sinister plan to cause unrest in the state he is aware of.

He further alleged that before and during the 2023 election, youth, mostly dropouts, loyal to Kwankwaso have intimidated the public by physically attacking them and destroying their properties.

Alh. Abbas also alleged that Kwankwaso and some of his associates have even threatened judges of the election tribunal in the state during the legal battle that brought the NNPP to power in the state.

Abbas also alleged that since the controversial appointment of the 14th Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, armed thugs have been deployed to the Emir’s palace, where they pose a threat to the neighborhood, buying and selling illicit drugs and perpetrating immoral acts in the name of protecting the Emir
