The Commissioner of Police Sokoto State Command Muhammed Usaini Gumel in keeping to his promises, issued Cheques to the families of fallen heroes.
He said the police command in line with Group Life Insurance initiative with the aim at improving the capacity and welfare for families of police officers that lost their lives in the line of duty, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Administration and Finance, Sokoto Command DCP Adamu Ibrahim had recently on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police presented cheques worth Three Million, nine hundred and ninety seven thousand naira to three families of Police officers who lost their lives while in active service.
During the presentation, the DCP consoled the bereaved families as the Command share their pains for the loss of hardworking and dedicated officers.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Sanusi Abubakar said the release of funds was aimed at reducing pains from the minds of their families and also for the families to undergo mini businesses to support their wards.
Gumel then urged citizens of the state to maintain the desired peaceful environment towards the conduct of a hitch-free political campaigns and 2023 electioneering processes.
He also reminded all media stations to keep releasing the print, audio and video rolled out by the police command to keep sensitizing members of the public against hate speeches and violent approaches.
The State Police Command further notify members of the public especially political players to advise their members to adopt sportsmanship idea and note that Politics is not a do or die affairs and there is life after the forthcoming elections.
“Public should note that the police command in conjunction with the relevant security agencies in the state will not relent in their efforts towards ensuring peaceful conduct of electoral processes and strict enforcement of the extant laws especially the electoral act as amended 2022.
