IGP Announces Significant Reorganization: DIG to Lead FIB, ACPs to Head Formations

By  Milcah  Tanimu

In a significant shakeup within the law enforcement sector, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has appointed a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to take charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), while Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) will assume leadership roles within various police formations.

This move is likely to have a substantial impact on the structure and operations of the police force, as the FIB plays a crucial role in intelligence gathering and analysis, and the ACPs hold key positions within different police units.

The appointment of a DIG to head the FIB suggests an emphasis on intelligence-driven policing, which can be instrumental in addressing various security challenges. Additionally, placing ACPs in charge of formations could lead to changes in leadership dynamics and potentially influence the implementation of law enforcement policies at the grassroots level.

The specific details of this reorganization, including the names of individuals appointed to these positions and the reasons behind these changes, will likely become clearer as more information is released by the Nigerian Police Force and relevant authorities.
