Kate Henshaw Responds to Critics Over Uzodinma’s Re-election Fundraising Dinner

By Daniel Edu

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has addressed her critics regarding the fundraising dinner hosted by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, who is seeking re-election on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform. The event took place on the same day the Supreme Court confirmed President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 election and dismissed the appeals of his main competitors, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar.

Kate Henshaw, along with her colleague Okey Bakassi, hosted the dinner, which led to criticism from some Nigerians on social media. In response, Kate Henshaw defended her decision to participate in the event and emphasized that she will continue to speak her truth about governance in Nigeria.

She further stated that the public has the right to hold leaders accountable for their unfulfilled promises. Kate Henshaw argued that politicians who choose to serve the country must be prepared for scrutiny and criticism because the governed have expectations based on their promises. She concluded by advising politicians who are afraid of public scrutiny to avoid political offices.
