This followed the result of the number of samples from the affected cases of incidence of fever in many parts of the state which was not responding to Malaria treatment modalities analysed by the state ministry of health.
A statement signed by the state commissioner of health Hajiya Asabe Balarabe said the result of analysis from the affected cases showed the presence of Dengue virus in some of them.
According to the statement it could be recalled that there was similar incidence in 2016 and 2019 in the state.
It further explained that Dengue fever is a viral illness transmitted by the Aedes mosquito especially Aedes aegypti which is characterised by symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, joint and muscle pain and general weakness.
The statement also implored members of the public to always sleep under insecticide mosquito treated bed nets, apply mosquito repellent on expose skin and ensure that there is no stagnant water around residential areas as well as keep surrounding clean and well maintained.
It also urged people to seek medical attention when they experience symptoms of the fever.
The statement reiterated the commitment of the state government to the improvement of Health and well-being of the people and advised them to be calm and vigilant on all health matters.
