JUST IN: Dana Air sacks workers amid operational audit

Amid an ongoing operational audit conducted by regulatory authorities, Dana Air has confirmed the termination of certain employees.

In a statement released on Saturday by Kingsley Ezen, the Head of Corporate Communications for the airline, Dana Air clarified that the audit is a collaborative effort between the company and regulatory bodies to ensure strict compliance with all required standards and regulations.

“As part of the ongoing audit process, Dana Air has made the decision to temporarily disengage some staff members pending the conclusion of the audit,” stated Ezenwa.

The management of Dana Air expressed gratitude to all employees for their resilience and commitment during this period of uncertainty. They acknowledged the challenges faced by staff and assured them of efforts to promptly resolve the situation.

Dana Air reiterated its commitment to collaborating closely with regulatory authorities to ensure a smooth and timely resolution of the audit process. The airline also promised to provide regular updates and support to its staff throughout this period.

Additionally, Dana Air has initiated discussions with lessors and actively engaged stakeholders in the ongoing progress.

“Dana Air urges calm and understanding from our dedicated staff and stakeholders as we navigate through this process,” the airline concluded.

In April, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended Dana Air’s Air Operators Certificate (AOC) following an incident where one of its planes veered off the runway at the Lagos airport. All passengers and crew onboard the flight remained unharmed. As investigations into the incident continue, the NCAA deemed it necessary to audit the operations of the airline.
