FG To Address Security Challenges In The Country-Badaru

Minister of Defense Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has on a working visit to Sokoto says FG is working on measures to address the incessant security challenges bedeviling the country .

He said the aim of the visit was to discuss modalities with the government of the state, the military and key stakeholders with a view to ending insurgency that had eaten into the fabric of socio-security and economic development in the north west zone of the country.

According to him, the needed machineries would be put in place to check the activities of bandits in the zone.

Muhammad Badaru said FG is seriously concern about the level of insecurity that has shortchanged the socio-security and economic development of the northern part of the country.

Responding, the Sokoto state governor Ahmad Aliyu said he is delighted with the recent moves made by the FG in addressing insecurity affecting the country .

The governor who was represented by his deputy Alh Idris Muhammad Gobir assured the state government’ s commitment to supporting the FG efforts stressing that all hands must be on deck on the fight against insecurity in the country.

While at the Sultanate palace, the Defense Minister solicited the support and cooperation of the Sultanate towards achieving the desired objectives.

In a remark, his eminence the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar
pledged that the Sultanate would do all it could to support government in addressing security challenges in the area adding that the Sultanate is always ready to work with all government institutions and development partners that have direct bearing to protecting lives and property of people in the areas.
