Bandits kill 13 in Southern Kaduna community

Terrorists have reportedly attacked and killed thirteen persons at Maro Junction, a weekly Market in Maro Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as Nigerians marked, May 29th democracy day, of 2024,

A former Council Chairman of Kajuru Local Government, Hon. Cafra Caino, who confirmed the development said the assailants invaded the market around 3:Pm on Wednesday and opened fire at the marketers.

According to him, twelve (12) bodies have been discovered while 20 others who also sustained various degrees of injuries have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

He explained that this is the second time the weekly market has been attacked while business owners and customers transacting businesses.

”The situation is critical and has thrown residents around the area into confusion while they scampered for safety in neighboring Villages.

”Security operatives drafted to the area have already left. We’re appealing for the Government to deploy security operatives to help restore normalcy.”

Contacted, the Kaduna State police command spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, could not respond till the time of filing this report.
