Sossa Commends Sokoto Gov. for Recognising Significance of Education as Tool for Dev

Chairman, sokoto state students association (sossa) usman danfodio university chapter, comrade musa atiku made the commendation while addressing newsmen on the contributions made by governor ahmad aliyu sokoto that changes lifestyles of students.

He said the main reason was clearing a hefty backlog of debt running into hundreds of millions by the immediate past administration of governor tambuwal.

“He graciously gave directives for the immediate verification and subsequent payment of tuition fees of over seven thousand seven hundred and forty four (7744) students studying in usman danfodio university sokoto.

“This year 2024, in the midst of economic crisis when students almost lost hope, the youths-oriented governor extended the same gesture of settling the tuition fees of over five thousand nine hundred and ninety six (5996) students studying in the university”.

Other things worthy of appraisal as stated by the chairman are the deployment of intra-city transportation in udus motor park to convey students throughout the metropolis at subsidised rates; pledged to build modern large capacity hostel facility that can accommodate students.

He similarly commend special adviser on students matters, alhaji abubakar salame who has been working tirelessly to ensure smooth and effective conduct of students’ day to day activities as students.

He said salame launched 7-points agenda scheme to help ensure maximun participation and efficiency in the institution.

Accordingly, the initiatives include students public health, students empowerment, students climate action, students peace dialogue, students drugs and morality as well as students a.I robotics technology and studentscwith disabilities among others.
