Delta state Trains Agents on Universal Health Coverage

Field Sales and Enrollment Agents of the
Delta State Contributory Health Commission, have been called upon to carry out their duties with diligence and focus in line with the MORE agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta made the call while declaring open a two day capacity building on business and marketing strategies organized by the Commission for its field sales and enrollment agents.

The event which held at the conference hall of the Commission in Asaba, saw 350 participants drawn from the 25 local government areas of the state in attendance.

Dr. Akpoveta said providing decent, affordable and accessible healthcare for Deltans remained important to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the immediate past Governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

He urged the agents to utilize the knowledge gained at the event to promote the various initiatives of the commission, particularly the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative and the Artisan Inducement Initiative.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Austin Obidi said agents of the Commission played a key role in promoting the MORE agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration, noting that the event was aimed at building their capacity to enable them carry out their duties effectively and achieve set goals.

The Management Consultant to the DSCHC Dr. SOS Nwachukwu and the Director ICT and Mr. Emmanuel Akpofure said after the training, the job of the field Sales and Enrollment Agents would be based on target driven performance system.

Lecturing on the topic – “Work Culture”, Mr. Charles Ojakovo of the Kingsclass Consulting Services stressed the need for sales personnel to understand and function in line with the culture of their workplace, in order to succeed.

He urged the field sales and enrollment agents of the commission to work on building good communication skills, imbibe the virtues of integrity and respect, be good team players, stay open minded and ever ready to provide innovative solutions

In another Lecture titled” Basic Marketing and Sales Strategies”, another resource person, harped on the concept of marketing, how to prospect correctly in targeting clients, tips to becoming better sales personnel, marketing strategies among other topics, aimed at enhancing their job performance

The two day event featured question and answer sessions, written tests to assess the level of comprehension of the participants, as well as the presentation of certificates of participation to the agents.
