Sokoto State Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Nura Shehu Tangaza, joined prominent figures at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, for the conferment of an honorary doctorate degree on Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. Wamakko, whom Tangaza describes as a mentor and political inspiration, received the Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in Political Science.
Attending the convocation with the commissioner were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar Alkali, and the Executive Director of Sokoto SEMA, Bashir Muhammad, among other dignitaries. They gathered at the convocation ground to celebrate the man often referred to as a “Political Gladiator.”
Ghani Abdullahi, Information Officer for the Ministry, noted that this prestigious honor acknowledges Senator Wamakko’s significant contributions to politics, dedication to public service, and commitment to improving the lives of Sokoto State’s citizens. The award also highlights his steadfast support for Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s administration.
