The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed all police officers to wear black bands for seven days to mourn the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. The presidency confirmed his death on Wednesday after he battled an undisclosed illness.

President Bola Tinubu also ordered that National Flags fly at half-mast for seven days to honor the late COAS.
