Governor Ododo Congratulates Aiyedatiwa on Ondo Governorship Election Victory

By Noah Ocheni

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in the Ondo State Governorship election held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Governor Ododo, who served as the Deputy Chairman of the Election Management and Strategy Committee in the APC Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, attributed the victory to the hard work and strategic planning of the party’s leadership and members.

While coordinating election operations in Ondo North Senatorial District from Owo, Governor Ododo expressed confidence that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration would sustain the developmental progress for which the APC has been recognized in Ondo State.

“We know Governor Aiyedatiwa to be a tested and trusted leader who will continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo State,” Governor Ododo said. “He will build on existing infrastructure, enhance social welfare, and maintain the security of lives and property across the state.”

Governor Ododo also described Aiyedatiwa’s victory as a testament to the APC’s popularity and acceptance in the state. He urged the people of Ondo State to support the governor as he prepares to commence his full term in office in February 2025.

Commending the electorate, including non-indigenous communities, for their peaceful conduct during the election, Governor Ododo assured them of recognition and rewards from the government for their support.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared the winner of the election by securing 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Honourable Agboola Ajayi, who garnered 117,845 votes.
