CGC Nigeria Limited has emerged as the champion of the 2024 “Haopeng Cup” Basketball League, organized by the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria (CGCCN).
The grand finale, held on Tuesday, December 17, at the CGC Sports Complex in Abuja, saw CGC defeat Team Turbo Mechanical Equipment Nigeria Limited 92 to 80 in a thrilling match.
The event attracted over 200 spectators, including dignitaries from the Chinese community in Nigeria, and celebrated sportsmanship, harmony, and friendship among Chinese enterprises in Nigeria.
CGC’s Lv Bowei won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his outstanding performance in the tournament. CCECC team emerged as the second runner-up, while China Harbour team won the Spiritual Civilisation Award.
The 2024 “Haopeng Cup” Basketball League was organized by the China General Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with CGC Nigeria Limited. A total of 8 teams participated in the competition, which aimed to promote unity and friendship among Chinese enterprises in Nigeria.
The event was attended by prominent guests, including Counsellor Yang Jianxing, Cultural Counsellor and Director of China Cultural Centre; Cui Guangzhen, Director-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria; and Li Wen, Managing Director of Haopeng, the title sponsor of the tournament and Chief Executives of Chinese Enterprises in Nigeria.
