The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has expelled its suspended National Vice Chairman, South-East Zone, Chief Ali Odefa, citing anti-party activities.
Odefa’s suspension, which occurred on September 11, 2024, was upheld by the Federal High Court in Abakaliki on November 29, 2024, in suit number FHC/AI/CS/182/2024. Acting PDP Oguduokwor Ward Chairman, Onyeka Herbert Ovuta, announced that the expulsion followed the recommendations of the ward’s disciplinary committee, which confirmed the allegations against Odefa.
“The decision aligns with the provisions of the PDP constitution, specifically sections 58(1) and 59(1),” Ovuta explained.
A statement from the ward executives added:
> “Following the court’s judgment affirming Odefa’s suspension, the Disciplinary Committee reviewed the matter and unanimously recommended his expulsion. The Executive Committee approved this on December 11, 2024, solidifying his removal from the party.”
Chief Ali Odefa is no longer recognized as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
